DynCorp partnered with the United States Air Force in developing the Contractor Field Teams (CFT) concept. In March 1951, the first CFT team was dispatched to perform modifications on the USAF's C-47 aircraft. The field team concept is to respond at a moment's notice to the changing needs of the military. DynCorp provides a quick-reaction, cost effective force multiplier for aircraft maintenance, peacekeeping operations, and other services. For more than 50 years, DynCorp has small and large teams of individuals at customer locations worldwide. DynCorp's global network of expertise in this area provides a highly skilled workforce anywhere in the world.

AFCMC Regulation 70-4 states: "The CFT concept provides quick response capability using teams of contractor personnel which can be dispatched to any Government installation worldwide".

What can a contract field team do?
AFCL Regulation 66-33 states: "The contract field teams perform maintenance, modification and logistics support of aircraft, engines, missiles, vehicles (wheel and track), communications, electronics, meteorological, ADPE and cryptologic equipment."
